Jeff Vinson

Jeff Vinson
Jeff’s strong traits of integrity, enthusiasm and leadership have always made him a valuable asset to any team, company or group that he has ever been involved with. His warm personality is very inviting and can easily be seen by any and everyone who comes into contact with him.
Jeff grew up in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and graduated from McKinley Tech Sr. High in 1984. He averaged 10 points and 6 assists while being overshadowed by “All-American” Kenny Sanders, who, subsequently went on to become George Mason University’s all-time leading scorer, where he holds that record to this day. After a brief stint at Allegany Community College, Dr. Joe Carr, a very reputable psychologist who works with basketball players in the area, advised Jeff that he needed to get away in order to be successful. Dr. Carr arranged for Jeff to play at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon, where Jeff led the team in scoring for 2 years, averaging 23 points and 8 assists. The idea was to subsequently transfer to Oregon State University until Gary Payton came to town; a name that speaks for itself. As a result, Jeff accepted a Scholarship to Seattle Pacific University. In spite of the circumstances, Jeff and Gary eventually became great friends.
After completing a very frustrating college career at SPU, Jeff spent a couple of years in the CBA with the Yakima Sun Kings and the Tri-City Chinooks. Due to his energetic personality, Jeff began to develop relationships with many NBA coaches and General Managers around the league, along with a few international teams and agents throughout Europe. This is where best friend J.R. Harris came into Jeff’s life. J.R., the first real friend that Jeff met in Seattle, took Jeff under his wings, inviting him to become a member of Marshall Harris Sports Management. They enjoyed a long history of success as Jeff developed a very keen eye for talent complementing his excellent understanding of the game.
